Well let that be Tancet or any other examination, most of the students always end up with the last minute preparation!
Its not that easy as they say to “prepare one hour a day” or “finish off the daily portions on the day end” . . . the latter concept may look wonderful to finish reading off the daily lessons on the same day so that they don’t get accumulated. But practically talking its always been very hard to do so, specially with lot of distractions that one can have daily!
General exam preparation tips
I am writing out this passage for students like me who find it a bit hard to concentrate, who tend to check their inbox, check for any new updates on facebook while studying. Though the phrase may sound funny its very true “even staring at a wall proves to be very interesting when I prepare for my exams” !!
Have a note and a pen
Now coming to the point I myself personally found that having a note and pen to scribble on it turns out to be wonderful to have a good focus.
You need not write out the words on the note and waste your precious last minute preparation time!! just have a pen and a note . . once you finish reading a paragraph just take 10 seconds to check whether you have really read it !! Yes just have the note and pen in your hand and recollect the points in that paragraph (remember you need not write it down on the note!! Just scribble some words), and if you can recall the points in it then you really have finished it!
Set goals
Its good to set short time goals while preparing, like when you have two days left for exams and you have just started preparing for it! Always have a time goal in your mind and make sure that you do it!
Have a small clock/watch in front of you and set a time limit – 10 minutes for a page!
Remember setting a time goal and studying will produce better results than just staring at a page for hours !!
Feeling sleepy??
Yes thats the biggest trouble that many people face while studying! We never feel sleepy when we are watching a film at mid-night but studying always stimulates the sleepy feeling!!
This is what I do to over come sleep!
I used to goto my friend’s room to prepare for exams and we always used to hang out and have a walk whenever we feel bit sleepy! We go out and have a coffee or a tea from the local shops.
But its not possible for all to go out at night time! And here is a simple thing that you can do at home to overcome sleep. Drink 5-8 glasses of water!! Yes!! it will surely work!! Try it!!
